Mums Posture – 6 Easy Ways to Fix it!
MUMS POSTURE GETTING YOU DOWN? Mums posture is a pain. Literally. Being a mum ain’t easy. I should know, I’m […]
Posture for mums isn’t easy! First of all there’s the damage done by just giving birth.
Then factor in dealing with the little darlings all day, picking them up, putting them down. Kneeling, oh the dreaded kneeling! Leaning into cribs and taking babies out. And into strollers. And cars!
Oh the pain of just getting a young child in and out of a car seat!
Your core was weakened, your shoulders round from pushing strollers and constantly hunching over from feeding, and your lower back! Your poor lower back!
When I work hands-on with women, I can tell straight away, without asking, if they’ve had children or not. If they have, the lower back is always tight and pinched in – every time!
So it takes a lot to look after your posture if you’re a mum.
Luckily, some posture help for mums is fun. Group Pilates and Yoga classes aimed at mums are a great way to strengthen, release, and relax. And many of these classes allow for babies to come along too, which is just as well!
It’s important to pay attention to how you do stuff while you’re a mum. Looking after number one is hard, but vital!
How do you push your stroller? Are you hunching forward over it, or are you standing tall and rebuilding that strong core you once had?
How are you changing nappies? Are you kneeling on the ground or do you have a special safe surface to help you?
Posture for mums is do-able! There are many exercises and many adaptions you can apply to look after your posture, after all, you are number one!
